TAT — Story Writing Tips

• Hero = one person (YOU projected). Positive, decisive, pro-social.
• Structure: Situation → Initiative/Action → Positive Outcome
• Avoid: violence, suicide, crime, failure as ending
• Include OLQs naturally — initiative, responsibility, cooperation
• Keep language simple and stories realistic
• Practice: 12 random pictures, 4 min each, daily

WAT — Word Association Tips

• Write the FIRST positive thought. Don't overthink.
• Form a complete sentence (not just a word)
• Show positive connotations — even for negative words like "failure"
• Examples: CRISIS → "A leader must solve crisis calmly"
• Examples: FEAR → "Courage means acting despite fear"
• Practice: 60 random words daily in 15 min

SRT — Situation Reaction Tips

• Write 1-line responses — quick, practical, decisive
• Show socially responsible action first (public > personal)
• Typical situations: accident, group conflict, resource constraint
• Good response: Action + notify appropriate authority + continue task
• Avoid: panic, inaction, blaming others, doing nothing
• Practice: 60 situations in 30 min — speed matters

Self Description Tips

• 5 sections: Self, Father's view, Mother's view, Friend's view, Teacher's view
• Each section ~60 words. Be realistic — not all positive.
• Include 1–2 genuine areas of improvement per section
• Consistency across sections signals authenticity
• Psychologist will cross-check SD with your TAT/WAT themes
• Prepare your SD draft and memorise it before SSB

Group Discussion

Contribute meaningfully. Listen actively. Don't interrupt. Introduce new points. Help quieter members speak. Summarise if given chance.

Group Planning Exercise

Map-based problem solving. Draw a model. Get group consensus. Present clearly. Use common sense — no perfect answer exists.

Progressive Group Task

3 increasingly difficult obstacles with planks and boulders. Lead from front. Offer solutions. Don't stand back watching.

Individual Obstacles

10 obstacles of increasing difficulty (1–10 pts each). Attempt as many as possible in 3 min. Higher = better. Attempt boldly.

Lecturette

3 min talk from 4 topic cards (choose 1 in 30 sec). Stand, speak confidently, no notes. Practise daily — current affairs topics.

Command Task

YOU are the commander with 2 candidates. Plan, brief your team, execute the task. GTO watches your leadership style closely.
